First announced last year, the Quantum Vault is the project of Mt Pelerin and partner firm ID Quantique to develop an institutional-grade digital asset custody solution relying ID Quantique's quantum-safe hardware technology and Mt Pelerin's key management layer to build a cutting-edge system in terms of security.

The project, which received funding from the European Union's OPENQKD research program, is now entering its testing phase through a proof of concept infrastructure that has been installed in the Geneva region with the help of five hosting partners:

Quantum Vault Testbed Setting

Equinix, a global datacenter colocation provider and one of the five hosts of the Quantum Vault testbed, ID Quantique and Mt Pelerin organize together an event on March 26th in its Geneva datacenter to discuss the theme of the quantum computer and its impact on encryption systems, where Mt Pelerin will present the Quantum Vault as a quantum-safe security solution in action.

The goal of this workshop is to explain how quantum cryptography is applied to several use cases including datacenter interconnection, 5G network and the storage of digital keys for blockchain applications.

Quantum keys are also available at Equinix datacenter in Geneva for Equinix customers wishing to run proof of concept.
