Have a question about Bridge Wallet? Find on this page the answers to the most frequently asked questions that we get every day.

Writing to us

If you can't find the answer to your question on this page, send us a message through Bridge Wallet's contact form or contact us by email.

1. Using Bridge Wallet

Bridge Wallet is a non-custodial wallet, meaning that only you have control over it. That control is exerted through your secret phrase. If someone else gets your secret phrase, that person will be able to control your wallet and you will lose your funds with no way to recover them. Therefore, it is crucial to carefully respect the following safety practices:

  • Never share your secret phrase with anyone.
  • Never enter your secret phrase on a website or in a form.
  • Back up your secret phrase properly, read this blog post for more information.
  • Never connect your wallet to an untrusted website.
  • Always verify that the URL of the website is correct before connecting through WalletConnect.
  • Never connect your wallet to a link that someone sent you in private message.
  • If someone contacts you in private message on social media about your wallet, it is a scam. Block and report those persons.
  • Don't trust, verify.

You can send to Bridge Wallet cryptocurrencies and tokens from any other wallet, service or exchange platform that allows you to withdraw funds to an external wallet address.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Make sure that the crypto you want to send is on a network supported by Bridge Wallet (see "Supported networks" below).
  2. In Bridge Wallet, choose the network on which you want to send funds via the icon on the top left of the app.
  3. Go in the "Addresses" tab.
  4. Send funds to the address displayed in "My wallet address".

Please note that once your crypto will be on Bridge Wallet, you will need to be able to cover network costs if you want to withdraw them on your bank account, swap them or send them to another address.

Bridge Wallet currently supports the following networks:

Mainnet networksTestnet networks
Arbitrum
Avalanche C-Chain
BNB Chain (BEP-20)
BitcoinBitcoin testnet
Ethereum (ERC-20)Ethereum testnet
Fantom
Gnosis
Optimism
Polygon
RSK
TezosTezos testnet

Network costs are what the servers running a blockchain charge for processing transactions. That fee is not charged by us but by the blockchain itself, it is therefore out of our control. The network fee is charged in the blockchain's native cryptocurrency:

BlockchainNative crypto
ArbitrumETH
AvalancheAVAX
BNB ChainBNB

Bridge Wallet is a non-custodial app, meaning that you are the only one able to access and control your wallet. Owning your wallet's secret phrase provides that access and control, and nobody else than you knows your secret phrase.

The purpose of Bridge Wallet's password is to encrypt and secure your secret phrase on your device, but none of them are stored elsewhere. Therefore, if you forget your password, there is no way to recover it. You will have to reset your app, then restore your wallet.

If you have forgotten your Bridge Wallet password, are changing device or simply switching to another secret phrase, you will need to restore your wallet.

To do so, select "Access an existing wallet" after having created a new password. Choose the type of secret phrase that you would like to restore, then enter in order the words of your secret phrase.

If you already identified with us, to recover your profile simply go in Settings > My profile > Begin identification and choose the same authentication method that you have previously used to identify (Message signature or SMS code confirmation) and that's it! Your identification profile will automatically be retrieved.

When you change device, you simply need to download and install Bridge Wallet on your new device, then restore your wallet by selecting "Access an existing wallet" after having created a new password.

You will need your secret phrase to restore your wallet, so if not done yet (bad!) please make sure to back it up first from your old device by going in Settings > Backup secret phrase.

Once you have restored your wallet on your new device, make sure to clear your wallet from your old device! To do so, on your old device go in Settings > Clear data stored on device.

You can install Bridge Wallet on as many device as you want, and use your wallet on them. Your identification profile is either linked to your mobile phone number, either linked to your wallet address, therefore all you have to do to use Bridge Wallet on multiple devices is to use the same secret phrase and the same authentication method (message signature or SMS code) on each one of them.

If you want to, you can even use different secret phrases on different devices, while using the same mobile phone number in order to use the same profile.

It can happen that assets that you have manually added in Bridge Wallet don't show anymore. Don't worry, your funds haven't moved! To see them again, you simply need to re-add the tokens in question.

How to add a token?

If you scan the QR code of an address and get an "Invalid address" error message, you will need to manually paste the address instead of scanning the QR code. That error message appears when when the QR code you're scanning includes more data than the address itself.

2. Identification

The types of proofs of address that we can accept are:

  • Utility bills: electricity, gas, water, waste, etc.
  • Internet bills
  • Landline phone bills (mobile phone not accepted)
  • Bank statements
  • Tax or non-tax certificates
  • Household insurance receipts (other types of insurances not accepted)
  • Rent bills or receipts
  • Property ownership certificates

Please note that your proof of address must be less than 3 months old.

The types of ID documents that we can accept are:

  • National ID cards
  • Passports
  • Any other government-issued ID document that includes your photo

We cannot accept expired ID documents, even if they are still valid in your country.

Please note that depending on your country, we might refuse a certain type of ID document and require a specific one due to regulatory constraints.

No, you can use our crypto buy/sell service without having to pass any form of identification below the following transaction volume thresholds (buy and sell included):

  • CHF 1,000 per day (or equivalent in other currencies)
  • CHF 15,000 per month (or equivalent in other currencies)
  • CHF 100,000 per year (or equivalent in other currencies)

To buy/sell crypto above these thresholds, you will need to pass your identification in Bridge Wallet in Settings > My profile > Begin identification

Identification is required to register MPS tokens and activate their shareholder rights and benefits.

Before asking for a SMS verification code, make sure that you have the sufficient mobile phone network connection to receive it. Check as well that the phone number and country code are correct.

If you still don't receive the SMS code after several trials, please contact us.

Mt Pelerin processes all your identification data internally, nothing is outsourced to third party providers. We are allowed to do so under our Swiss financial intermediary status. This status means that we apply the Swiss KYC/AML directives, and that the way we apply them is audited several times a year by an independant organization affiliated to FINMA, the Swiss financial market supervisory authority.

In Switzerland, the final validation of an identification must be performed by a human being and can therefore not be automated. We do our best to review and validate new identifications as fast as we can, but please note that it can take up to 2 business days.

You can see the status of your identification at any time by going in Bridge Wallet Settings > My profile.

The icon of each section tells you its status:

  • - Validated
  • - In review
  • - Rejected (you will get an email explaining why and how to provide the right information)

If you need to update your information, your new residence address for instance, you can do so at any time in Bridge Wallet in Settings > My profile.

Bridge Wallet is a non-custodial app, therefore there is no account strictly speaking but only your identification information that we need to authorize crypto-fiat transactions. Being a regulated entity, we are required to keep that information for a period of 10 years. We cannot delete it on your request.

If you don't want to use Bridge Wallet anymore, you can simply uninstall the app. The wallet address created with the app entirely belongs to you, so you are free to do what you want with it. Please note that we have no way to help you recover it if you lose your secret phrase.

It is possible to use our crypto buy/sell service as a company. To do so, the person who will use it on behalf of the company must identify in Bridge Wallet as an individual.

Once done, please contact us by email as you will need to fill a few extra forms to create your business account.

In order to give you a way to verify the authenticity of the various emails that we send you when you use our service, they all have a signature.asc file in attachment.

You will find below the PGP public keys that we used to sign emails sent from operations@mtpelerin.com and compliance@mtpelerin.com. Import them into your PGP/GPG enabled email client to verify the authenticity of signed email from the site.

3. MPS tokens

Yes, it is a security token or simply said it is a share of the company Mt Pelerin Group SA. To be more specific, it is an asset token as defined in the guidelines published by FINMA, the Swiss financial market supervisory authority.

If you have bought MPS tokens, you need to register them with the company in order to activate your voting and dividend rights associated with their ownership.

To register MPS tokens, you need to identify in Bridge Wallet and have MPS tokens stored there or on a linked address.

Please note that we cannot accept shareholder registrations from persons from: Afghanistan, Belarus, Burundi, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Myanmar, Nicaragua, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, Yemen, Zimbabwe.

No, if you are not interested in the MPS token's voting and dividend rights you don't need to register them.

No, you can store MPS tokens on any wallet you want, then link your storage address in Bridge Wallet.

No, a fraction of a share is not possible under Swiss law. Therefore, 1 MPS is the smallest possible unit of ownership in Mt Pelerin Group SA.

If your MPS tokens have been lost or stolen, contact us immediately.

The MPS token is the actual share of Mt Pelerin Group SA. Therefore, you should declare and report it in your tax return the same way as you would for the ownership of the shares of any other non-public company.

If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact your local tax administration.

Under Swiss law, any dividend must be proposed by the board of directors of Mt Pelerin Group SA and approved by a general meeting of the shareholders.

Any proposal by the board of directors to distribute a dividend, if any, will depend on different parameters notably the company's results of operations, financial condition, cash requirements and other relevant legal considerations (sufficient reserves).

Only the 500,000 MPS tokens sold in 2018 are freely transferable. The 95% remaining MPS tokens belong to our holding company, team and advisors. They are all locked and bound by shareholder agreements.

The main purpose of those 95% tokens is to conduct our second round of funding (not public). In this way, we commit to protect our crowd investors by raising funds through the holding company selling its own shares, not through the dilution of the circulating 500,000 MPS tokens.

4. Buying crypto

You can use our service to buy and sell cryptocurrencies from anywhere in the world, except the following countries:

USA, China (residents only), Afghanistan, Belarus, Burundi, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Myanmar, Nicaragua, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, Yemen, Zimbabwe.

You receive a second email + push notification as soon as we transfer your crypto purchase to your wallet address. Please note that your purchase can take several minutes to appear in your wallet after having received that notification.

  1. Bank transfers take time to arrive on our bank account, check "Bank transfer times" above to see how long a bank transfer takes to reach us depending on your region.
  2. We have received your bank transfer, but cannot process it for various reasons. In such case, we always notify you by email immediately. Check your spam to see if you find one of those emails there.
  3. We have received your bank transfer, but the delivery of your crypto is still processing. Delivery can be delayed sometimes due to network congestion, so please give it some time. If your delivery is still pending after a day, please contact us.

If your card payment was successful but you haven't received your crypto yet, most common reasons are:

  1. Crypto bought by card usually take a few minutes to appear in your wallet. In some cases, it can take up to several hours in case of network congestion.
  2. If you are a non-identified user and you have made a 5th card purchase in the same day, your last transaction will be processed manually and therefore take longer to be delivered.
  3. If you make several card purchases in a row, you may be flagged by our system for manual processing and your transaction will therefore take longer to be delivered.

Please note that we have no way of knowing when your funds reach your bank account, so you will have to check your bank account yourself and/or activate relevant notifications with your bank.

When selling cryptocurrencies for fiat, the exchange rate applied is the best market rate we can obtain at the moment when we receive your crypto transfer.

There is a minimum amount of CHF 50 or equivalent to convert cryptocurrency in fiat and withdraw on your bank account.

There is no maximum amount of cryptocurrency that you can convert in fiat with us, however above CHF 100,000 (or equivalent) we ask you to contact us by email first. For larger amounts we may ask you extra documentation or extra KYC steps for your transfer before executing it.

Bank account coordinates entered in our interface are automatically saved, you will be able to browse them and re-use them for further withdrawals.

When you buy cryptocurrencies with us, we also automatically save the bank account from which the funds have been sent, so that you won't have to re-enter it when selling cryptos and withdrawing funds on your bank account.

Those network costs are paid in the following cryptocurrencies:

We send you an email confirming that we have received your crypto transfer within minutes in most cases, but it can sometimes take several hours to be sent.

Also, if you use our web interface make sure to sell your crypto through the interface each time. If you send crypto to our wallet address without going through our interface, our system won't be able to process your transfer.
