How to add a token in Bridge Wallet

By default, for each blockchain Bridge Wallet only lists its native cryptocurrency and the most common stablecoins available on them. Any other token will simply not appear in your asset list until you add it manually. Nothing is lost in the meantime: your balance is recorded on the blockchain, not in the app, so it stays exactly where it is even when nothing shows on screen.

Two things are worth checking before adding the token: that you are on the right network (the network icon is on the top left of the screen), and that you are looking at the wallet address that received the tokens. Once you add the token by following the steps above, your balance appears immediately.

No, it is free. Adding a token only tells the app which asset to display, so no blockchain transaction is created and no network fee is paid. Bridge Wallet is also free to download, and free to hold, send and receive cryptocurrency.

Any token that exists on one of the networks on which the app supports tokens: Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, BNB Chain, Celo, Ethereum, Gnosis Chain, Optimism, Polygon, Rootstock, Sonic, Tempo, Tezos and zkSync Era. On the EVM networks of that list, this covers standard ERC-20 tokens, and on Tezos it covers FA1.2 and FA2 tokens.

Bitcoin and the Lightning network are also supported by Bridge Wallet, but manual token addition does not apply to them.

Open the block explorer of the network the token lives on (the list of explorers is in step 3 above), search for the token by name or ticker, and copy the contract address displayed on its page.

Be careful at this step. Anyone can deploy a token and give it the name and the ticker of a well known project. Whenever possible, take the contract address from the official website or documentation of the project rather than from search results, and cross-check it on the explorer before pasting it into Bridge Wallet. A wrong address will add a worthless look-alike token instead of the one you are after.

The most common reason is that your tokens are on another network than the one currently selected in the app. Many projects deploy the same token on several blockchains, and each deployment has its own contract address and its own balance. Switch network via the icon on the top left of the screen and look again there.

If the network is the right one, check that the contract address you pasted is the correct one, and that the wallet address you are looking at is the one that received the tokens.

Yes, at any time. Removing a token that you added only hides it from your asset list, it does not move, sell or destroy anything. Your balance stays on the blockchain and shows up again as soon as you add the token back.

Yes. Sending a token requires a small amount of the native currency of its network to pay the transaction fee, for example ETH on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism and zkSync Era, POL on Polygon, BNB on BNB Chain, AVAX on Avalanche or XTZ on Tezos.

Holding and receiving a token costs nothing, so if your wallet holds only the token and none of the network's native currency, top it up before trying to send anything out.

In most cases you can swap it in Bridge Wallet via the 'Swap' button of the token's screen, as long as a market exists for that token on decentralized exchanges.

You cannot exchange it with fiat currencies directly via Mt Pelerin's service, for that you will need to make a swap between your token and one of the cryptocurrencies supported by Mt Pelerin's exchange service.

If your wallet doesn't have a balance for the token you have added manually and that you have disabled the display of null balances in the app, it is normal to not see the token. To display it, simply click on the filter icon on the top left part of your wallet screen, and disable the toggles "Hide zero balances" and "Hide balances below CHF 1".
