How to Create a Wallet with MetaMask

October 19th 2018

In this guide, we walk you through the steps to create a new Ethereum address using MetaMask, a commonly used digital wallet solution.

This guide is purely informative and not a recommendation to use MetaMask exclusively. There are other widespread digital wallet solutions, notably MyEtherWallet for which we will make a guide as well.

Here the steps to follow to create a MetaMask wallet:

  7. Congratulations, you now have a wallet! Here is how you can find your public key (your wallet address), which you will need for the next step::

  8. That's it! You now have an Ethereum address.

Remember, you can freely share your wallet's public key, but you can never share your private key and your seed words to anyone else! If someone gets access to them, they will be able to steal everything in your wallet with no way back for you. This is why securing your private key and seed words properly is critical.
