Find below the answers to the most common questions about the EURL stablecoin. When available, we give you links to in-depth articles for further reading.

The EURL is the first euro stablecoin created on the Tezos blockchain. It is issued and managed by Lugh, a company supported by French giants Casino and Société Générale, and fully backed by a euro reserve held at Société Générale.

Right now, 1 EURL is worth CHF .

Right now, 1 Swiss franc is equal to EURL.

A stablecoin is a type of cryptocurrency designed to have the same value as a given fiat currency, like the US dollar. Its purpose is to let users invest in and out of volatile crypto-assets easily while remaining on chain, to facilitate crypto payments, and to denominate the price of other tokens in currencies that people are familiar with.

The EURL is fully backed by a reserve of euros and is always redeemable 1-for-1 with euros. Moreover, it is regulated in France, backed by one of the largest banks in the world (Société Générale), and publishes transparent reserve reports, so it's reasonable to say that the EURL is safe.

The EURL is designed to follow the price of the euro, it is therefore determined by it. Maintaining such peg mechanism is challenging, and it is possible for the EURL to deviate from the euro price for various technical or market reasons.

You never store EURL in itself. Instead, you store the private key giving you access and control over a wallet address that contains EURL. That key is stored in a wallet, which provides an interface to use it. To learn more, read our in-depth guide on storing crypto assets.

To send EURL, you use a crypto wallet like Bridge Wallet where you will choose the amount to send and the destination address. Confirm and send, that's it!
