Find below the answers to the most common questions about the EURS stablecoin. When available, we give you links to in-depth articles for further reading.

The EURS is a euro stablecoin issued by the company Stasis. It is fully backed by a publicly disclosed euro reserve managed by the company.

Right now, 1 Stasis Euro is worth ¥.

Right now, 1 Japanese yen is equal to EURS.

A stablecoin is a type of cryptocurrency designed to have the same value as a given fiat currency, like the US dollar. Its purpose is to let users invest in and out of volatile crypto-assets easily while remaining on chain, to facilitate crypto payments, and to denominate the price of other tokens in currencies that people are familiar with.

The EURS is fully backed by a reserve of euros and is always redeemable 1-for-1 with euros. It is regulated in Malta and publishes daily, quarterly and annual reserve statements and audit reports, so it's reasonable to say that the EURS is safe.

The EURS is designed to follow the price of the euro, it is therefore determined by it. Maintaining such peg mechanism is challenging, and it is possible for the EURS to deviate from the euro price for various technical or market reasons.

You never store EURS in itself. Instead, you store the private key giving you access and control over a wallet address that contains EURS. That key is stored in a wallet, which provides an interface to use it. To learn more, read our in-depth guide on storing crypto assets.
